Kid Koala releases album featuring Emiliana Torrini

Kid Koala, the legendary artist just released a new album this January 20th, 2017. Album features the lovely voice of Emiliana Torrini.

This inaugural volume in the Music To Draw To series is Kid Koala’s first non-sample-based record. Instead sampling, Koala is using an array of music instruments, and inventive recording techniques to portray this heartrending musical story. Instruments like synthesizers, keys, guitars, strings, and of course turntables.

Eric San, better known as Kid Koala, is a Canadian DJ, turntablist, musician and an author of graphic novels. He is signed to the British record label Ninja Tune. Yet, despite considerable success as a DJ, he’s always seemed artistically restless, collaborating with everyone from Amon Tobin to the Preservation Hall Jazz Band.

Kid Koala is part of Deltron 3030, and have contributed to projects like Lovage and Gorillaz.

Emiliana Torrini recently participated on a live album with The Colorist Orchestra. On the past, She was featured on Thievery Corporation’s “The Richest Man In Babylon” album, and the soundtrack of The Lord of The Rings. Her solo albums are magical and, as a personal note, when I have a daughter I will name her Emiliana.
